The Bible
We believe that the entire Bible is God's Word—each and every word originates from Him. The Bible is our final authority for all that we believe. We interpret the Bible in a normal, literal fashion, unless a passage clearly uses a figure of speech as a literary device to convey a point.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
Salvation
We believe that humanity needs to be saved—not from loneliness, unfulfilled desires, or a failed marriage or career, but from the consequences of sin. Because everyone has sinned (whether in great ways or small), humanity is under God's wrath, living separate from God and His promises in this world. Without salvation, this separation continues for eternity in hell.
(Ephesians 1:8)
Atonement
God forgives our sin because Jesus died on the cross as an atonement for us. Simply put, Jesus took the punishment that we deserved. God offers forgiveness because the penalty for our sin has already been poured out on Jesus.
(Romans 3:25; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
